"The Wire" is a gritty American crime drama that focuses on the seedy underbelly of Baltimore, Maryland. Each season focuses on a different aspect of the city, starting with the police force and the drug trade. It moves on to explore politics, the education system and the media. Created by David Simon ("Homicide: Life on the Street"), the ensemble HBO drama premiered in 2002 and ran for five seasons.
