Summary
Mamie Till-Mobley lives in an all-black neighbourhood of 1955 Chicago with 14-year-old son Emmett. The boy visits cousins in Mississippi and violates an unspoken code of conduct by paying 21-year-old white shopkeeper Carolyn Bryant a compliment. He is lynched and Mamie fights for justice.
