An actor who was already a star thanks to Game of Thrones and Ted Lasso became a superstar this year by co-hosting Eurovision — but it’s Hannah Waddingham’s musical theatre background that she draws on for this nicely old-fashioned festive special. At the London Coliseum, she sings everything from big-band standards and soul classics to the pure reverence of O, Holy Night.
Often visibly moved to have been given such a showcase, she welcomes many of her Lasso co-stars to the stage for light-hearted song-and- dance fun. She’s even more adept at the inclusive, energising chat between songs.
