If you're anything like us, then you've already played all there is to offer in Insomniac's excellent superhero romp and are left pondering, "Does Spider-Man 2 have New Game Plus?"

Luckily for you, we have your options after the ending explained.

As seen in our review, we're big fans of Spider-Man 2 and have played through its many missions, hunted every trophy and nodded our heads along to the wonderful soundtrack - which has been stuck in our head ever since.

Given how well the port of the first game turned out, we can't wait for a potential PC version to come out, too, to see New York City in greater detail than ever.

All good things must come to an end, however - unless, of course, there's an excellent New Game Plus mode for us to sink our fangs into, which is exactly what we'll be taking a look at. Read on!

Surprisingly, Spider-Man 2 doesn't have a New Game Plus option at launch. While this might be disappointing, it doesn't mean the feature will never arrive, as revealed by Insomniac developer James Stevenson on X (formerly Twitter).

We'll update this page as soon as anything changes. But for now, let's have a speculate as to when it might become available...

Will Spider-Man 2 ever get New Game Plus?

The developers have now confirmed that, yes, Spider-Man 2 will get a New Game Plus mode at some point after launch. Mission replay will be added later, too!

Both of the previous games in the series (2018's Spider-Man and 2020's Miles Morales) had a New Game Plus option eventually.

The first game had one only a month after its release. It was included in a patch that also added the Ultimate difficulty and a couple more trophies.

And the New Game Plus for Miles Morales was included at launch, so it's no surprise that Spider-Man 2 is getting it, too. We just have to be patient - but fortunately, not too patient.

In a follow-up to the tweet above, Stevenson revealed that the NG+ should be in our webs by the end of 2023.

With so many upcoming games, that gives us a couple of months to get through them before swinging back into New York City.

Can you keep playing after the ending in Spider-Man 2?

As we have said, Spider-Man 2 is an open-world sandbox with plenty to do. If you've only finished the main storyline, there are over 10 hours' worth of side quests to get stuck into.

And even then, don't forget that New York is the city that never sleeps. There will always be crimes to stop, in between swinging through the streets you keep safe.

Also, the Ultimate difficulty is unlocked as soon as you finish the game - the same one that came later with a patch for the first release.

It's essentially a harder difficulty to start the game with. It's not quite New Game Plus, but it'll give you a challenge if things are getting too easy!
